Just started as a cashier... lots of questions

I was trained for 2 days before I was even allowed to touch a register. Its really simple and eveything becomes second nature once you've mastered the basics.

How am I supposed to go on breaks? Your CSM will let you know. They'll either tell you to turn off your light and take your break, or they'll have someone replace you. If you have a 6 hour shift, and you've gone more than 2 hours without a break, put in a 248 action code and ask them about it. Sometimes they do forget, or overlook you. How am I assigned to a register and all that jazz? Again, a CSM will assign you to a register. How do I remember all of those gosh darn produce codes? Those are a little complicated but not too hard. Most of them have stickers on them that tell you the codes. Others do not which means you'll have to refer to the produce book that should be located behind the scanner or receipt machine. Bananas will be the first thing you'll memorize since they're the easiest to learn. 4011 will forever be imprinted onto your brain as well as 4061, 4087, 4078, 4664, 4889, 4032, 4611, 4612, 4050, and 4080 since those codes are what you will be using the most. Should I ask for more training or just try to learn as I go? ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS ask for more training if you feel like you need it. CSM's aren't just there to help the customer, they're there to help you as well. We all started out from the bottom at one point, so don't feel like you're being pushed out into the wild to fend for yourself. I ALWAYS help any new cashiers if they look like they're struggling but they don't want to ask for help as it might make them look like they don't know what they're doing. I was once in that position and I didn't want to ask for help and I was embarrassed that I had to but I'm glad I did and you will be too.
