Kid's menus at restaurants should be smaller portions of the same adult dishes at lower prices and not the junk food that they usually offer.

If kids would eat the same things adults would then there wouldn't be a kids menu.

The whole point of the kids menu is to offer something the damn* kids would eat so the parents and family and friends and adult party in general can have a good time eating out without browbeating their kids to eat stuff they don't want to eat. If they have something they actually want to eat they might actually sit down and eat rather than find ways to play.

That's why you see shit like cheeseburger and fries or grilled cheese on the kids menu at a mexican or italian or chinese restaurant. It's not like those dishes would be served there otherwise since none of those cuisines have those dishes and there is no analogue on the "non-kids" menu. They are there solely for the kids to eat.

Trust me, we would certainly order an adult plate of mongolian beef, chile relleno, pasta primavera, or whatever the hell if the kids would eat it. The kids menu is not there for pricing; it's there so parents have an option to feed (some*) kids.

*Not all kids are super picky about what they eat.
