Korra S1 was a masterclass in animation. This fight scene in particular is so smooth

Yes I’m not disagreeing that they used old traditional bending. But the adherence to detail of the forms for the ancient martial arts is not as good. The beginning of the link you showed of the actual real martial artist is actually from ATLA as you can see the split screen with Bumi practicing hung gar. And then yes they brought in a UFC fighter to advise on the “modern styles“ for PRO BENDING. UFC is pretty much an amalgamation of jiujits, Muay Thai, boxing and maybe some judo or Tkd based on the fighters background. And I think that is really cool and very accurate.

But I’ve trained in multiple martial arts for many years (Wushu, taekwondo, Muay Thai, judo, hapkido, Tai chi and have spent some time at a UFC gym) and I absolutely stand by my stance that when they are using traditional bending for air bending or water bending it is not as accurate as in ATLA. The UFC fighter was not advising on waterbending or air bending (ufc Fighting has about as much in common with tai chi as ballet).
