It was while competing in her 3rd grade talent show that she discovered her passion and love for country music. Seven years, 34 awards, and two guitars later, four-time “Songwriter of the Year” and five-time “New Country Female Entertainer of the Year” Kristi Hoopes is belting out the country music of tomorrow, today! Kristi’s heartfelt songs and eclectic country footprint has been left at iconic venues like the Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Colorado State Fair. No matter the venue, she quickly becomes a fan favorite. Kristi has been the opening act for well-known Colorado bands like the Blue Canyon Boys, Fireweed, Barry Ward, and Nashville recording artist Ashley Buchart.
A competitor at local Texaco Country Showdowns with *30+ awards in country music to her name, 16 year old Kristi has proven herself to be an accomplished and dynamic emerging artist. Her musical accolades have been noticed by the press and talked about on radio. Affirmations of Kristi’s talent brought her a showdown win along side musical talents like Richie Law from American Idol, the Kory Brunson Band and The Branders. This past summer, Kristi’s first place win at the Texaco Country Showdown for KSPK 102.3 made her one of only eight contestants to represent the State of Colorado on Kenny Rogers’ stage at Copper Mountain, CO! For the second year in a row, Kristi will be representing Trinidad radio station 92.5 KCRT in her effort to make it to the National Showdown at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN!
When she's not tearin' up a stage or penning a new song, she volunteers her time and talents at charity events and involves herself in local theater productions, both on stage and behind the scenes. Her rigorous academic schedule and 4.1 GPA leave her with little free time, but she makes use of what she gets by riding horses, camping, writing poetry, and hanging out with her friends. Kristi Hoopes may be a small-town girl, but her Mile Hi voice promises to take the country music scene by storm!
