The Wastelanders is a 4-player game of survival in a post apocalyptic themed city that players simulate exploring through the use of a card draw and lay mechanic. No two games are ever the same. Each game presents their own evolving challenges that the player must deal with or die. Just like no two games have the same layout so to is how players win. The only goal is to be the last surviving player. How this is done depends on the player. How ruthless can you be? In the year 2048, amid the turmoil of an uncertain future, the last of the great nation powers ceased to be. Even the once great United States of America could not stand against the unrelenting waves of civil anarchy and socialital collapse. The end of an era did not come with the raining of hell fire and trumpet sound, but to the sound of a morning empty the hum that had been the churning cogs of civilization. Within twelve months, no vestiges of society remained, only mass graves to mark the passing of millions who had waited and prayed for salvation. While others found a new way, and rather than be engulfed by the darkening future, embraced it. Civility and rule of law fell to the way side, replaced by something older, something more primal, something forgotten. The need to survive and those who will do whatever it takes to ensure it. "The Wastelanders" is a post-apocalyptic table top experience, it is competitive, card drafting, tile laying, strategic, modern open world dungeon crawl. It is set in a future where the world has fallen into anarchy following the collapse of the American government. Will you succumb to hunger and starvation? Or will you take what meager resources still exist as your own? Will you explore and retake the city as a soldier, or will you scavenge one location at a time struggling against the challenges of the Wastelands.
