Quite equal trophy wise, despite Lazio having European trophies to boast about, Roma is considered the bigger club, Roma has more support than Lazio and are very consistent. Lazio has spikes in form, there are years where they are incredible ( like 2019/20) and they usually capitalize but also dips and many years when they are just above average at best, Roma historically is almost always consistently in the top 4 behind Milan, Inter/Juve it’s pretty rare to see them outside of it but they just can’t capitalize shit, even when they just have amazing teams like they did in the mid-2010’s and 2000’s. I think the fans have something to do with it, they know they are a big club and they do expect trophies but the fact that they just can’t fucking win anything makes the pressure of winning one overwhelming.

Lazio fans are pieces of shit but they don’t expect anything from their team, they are un optimistic, they just accept the fact that they can’t and won’t always win, Roma fans always want to win and they can get really mad when they don’t, which is difficult for a club that never won shit.

The fact that they are the capital’s team is very much felt. Romans are absolutely in love with their city and Roma represents it, it bares its name in the world’s biggest stage, that’s why the love and are so passionate about the club. They desperately want a team worthy of Rome, rightfully so.

Roma has rarely lived up to that.

Also that’s why Totti was such a god in Rome, not only he was a Roman in love with Roma but was very much a player worthy of representing Rome and they haven’t seen many. Even Lazio fans respected him to some degree, which it really does say something.

Roma is the 4th biggest club in Italy and there’s no question about it. Napoli is 5th and Lazio 6th in my eyes, Fiorentina 7th.
