I don't know that another meta thread of that sort would do any good. It certainly didn't last year. Everyone fluffed about with meaningless niceties and then nothing really changed. It's one of the reasons I cracked the shits at the time.

It's a shame because I've always thought this sub could be better than flame wars over phrasing and 'Monash or Ballarat TAFE' threads, but every time we seem to be getting better something pulls us back. I guess that after 5+ years of being an active regular and constantly trying to nudge it in the right direction, I'm just tired.

Perhaps I should simply adopt King Cnut's approach and stop trying to fight the tide. But surrendering doesn't come easy to me.
