Workplace romance and sexual harassment circumvention advice (not legal advice)

Sit her down for a performance management coffee. Do this as someone she surely sees as having authority in the workplace, even if you’re not one of her direct reports. Do this while she’s new and her confidence is at its lowest. Hit on her. Tell her you’re not threatened by working women because of your mother. Tell her you’re attracted to the way she enters data into spreadsheets. Tell her she’s not just got – she’s beautiful. Compare her to long-dead actresses. Ask her out for a drink. Finish the performance management coffee and tell her you’re disappointed she wouldn’t go out with you, but it definitely won’t impact her performance assessment in this new environment.

Or don’t, because that would be an awful, awful experience for her.
