Leave Hydro One alone

The liberal's mistakes have forced Ontario to sell the assets. Oh well their mistake.

No, not "Oh well, their mistake". That's a childish attitude to have. We shouldn't fuck over ourselves in 20 years because of the current Government and just dismiss it as "Well they fucked up".

Increasing taxes even more just makes the sunshine list grow even more

The "Sunshine List" is BS, but yes we could certainly pay many of our public servants a little less. But considering our wages have stagnated over the last 50 years, I think it would be more appropriate to put the blame here on the private companies instead of the public sector.

If we were so efficient and had such low per capita spending. How did we get into historic levels of debt?

Because that's how money works. Our spending is relatively reasonable, but our revenue dropped significantly after the recession. Ontario's economy was heavily invested in Manufacturing. The recession hit Manufacturing especially hard, and then the dollar went to parity with the US, further harming manufacturing. It's starting to pick up now, but I doubt it will get to where it was. We need to look at specializing elsewhere.

Are taxes too low? Well there's a very strong litmus test for that. Is there massive growth in the province and a labour shortage because taxes are so low that businesses are scrambling to open up shop? Clearly not. Infact we have empty buildings and public $ places everywhere. Taxes are too high and it has pushed businesses out of the province.

This isn't an Ontario problem. Businesses have been failing all over the world as people stopped buying and costs went up. This is occurring almost everywhere. Again, it's picking up, but slowly.

I'm not convinced that Ontario is heading in the right direction to take full advantage of a new boom, but cutting budgets and slashing services will absolutely not help in the next 20 years. It may look good for the next 5, but it will only stall our future growth.
