I for one, welcome all the white people claiming to be indigenous, white people claiming to be black, and men claiming to be women.

Hint: fascists are using the excessive permissiveness, and unwillingness to question even the obscenely absurd, of many progressives, in order to discredit leftism.

It's basically the same dynamic that got George Santos elected in the USA, I think. You know, the Brazilian guy in the US Congress who claims to be a half-black gay Jewish Holocaust survivor? Those were all lies. But it's not polite to question someone's ancestry. And you shouldn't question whether a guy, who divorced his wife a week before he came out as gay during an election campaign, is actually gay! That's downright taboo.

And so fascists, right-wing trolls and others are given free reign, without any pushback even, to lie and mock, without check. This is a blind spot for many progressives for some reason.
