Leaving Home for a Life of Homelessness

Having been homeless as a kid as well now working with the homeless and extremely passionate about helping that population, what you wrote really resonates with me. I have met a few people who I can tell you have some of the strongest will, largest hearts, and loudest laughs. And when you say you prefer outside; that was the hardest thing for me to learn in my current profession. I will come across people that prefer to be outside and when i would house someone who did, and would see them outside all the time, I would feel like my efforts were futile. But since I have learned it is all about building rapport and showing genuine care and support. Do you have any advice as to how a service provider/outreach team can work to better reduce homelessness or at least make those that are homeless more comfortable in their situation?

Stay strong and know there are people out there that care about you. If you ever want/need to chat about anything or if you're ever near Wisconsin and in need of housing please feel free to reach out to me.
