Whew, welcome to my second analysis. Okay, let’s go. This is a Bo2 (sigh) between LG and Affnity.
Let’s talk about LG. I love this roster a lot. Yes, they might not have the results to show for it, but this roster has loads of promise. It has PTR, formerly from CLG and is a very talented AWPer. He’s the one who basically put CLG on the map and upsetted LDLC in spectacular fashion. Great player. Some stand outs are Pyth, from Orbit and sometimes a stand in for NIP. I actually thought that he would perform better but right now, I’m guessing communication is a bit limited and it shows how Pyth plays. Then they have Lex, Naf-Fly (formerly from Liquid) and Anger. It’s a solid roster no doubt. However, when you saw them play against Liquid yesterday, they were being crushed and steam rolled. It’s more to do with Liquid being absolutely dominate, eventually beating Cloud 9 in the last stage, than with LG playing terribly. They probably did practice a lot more since last night and refined the errors that they made. The best thing to do at this point is not let their guard down.
And now, Affnity. Oh how I loath this team. Not because I hate it, but because this team has pulled off so many upsets. CLG vs Affinity, man that was a terrible game to watch if you bet on CLG. CLG was playing badly that night, no doubt, but Affinity was taking advantage of that and was supremely good. Their roster consists of good players here and there but arya really pops out in my mind. The guy is a very good AWPer and a talented player. DAVEY, focs and jasonr are all good players, well rounded and balanced. abE is also a name that pops out just because I remember him being very good. This team is so weird, because it looks like a pug team but they flow really well together and while they do sometimes rely on individual play, their chemistry is quite good.
Bottom line is, the reason the odds are almost like 50-50, is because of LG’s horrible match against Liquid last night combined with Affnity’s ability to upset high tier NA teams. I would still go for a low bet on LG as I think these odds are at 65-35. I think LG can at least pull off a solid one map and maybe a very close one against Affnity. Although, Affnity does have the chance to pull off an upset and a pretty big one, too. So bet with caution and make sure the low bet on LG is something that you can afford to lose. Otherwise, ICBing on Affnity is not a bad chance at all, considering that this will probably end up in a 1-1.
