Losses on short positions in U.S. firms top $70 billion

The funniest part is that these people are just shit talking on stocks and hedges in a public forum anyone can log in to. The guy who sparked the whole thing just decided to post how he bought a bunch of stock and options that would maybe come to fruition in Jan 2021. Unless he was seeing into the future with a crystal ball, he literally just posted his guess online where anyone could see it and then the memes drove the rest to follow him.

If what happened on wallstreetbets is market manipulation then so is every news story on financial firms ever in the history of the market. Every Bloomberg article should end with the SEC fining/barring/jailing the author because they shared public info on public companies in a public place.
