A lot of my friends are leaving Canada to work in the US, and want me to move out too, what are your thoughts on this?

I disagree - my in laws in the US are much better off in retirement and have built an impressive amount of wealth in the US compared to my parents - they both started in similar positions (immigrants) and have similar homes. My parents RRSP and pension allows them to get by but with little extras. My in laws travel, have a second home in a warm location, and have access to some of the best doctors in the world. My MIL Is a nurse and has an incredible US pension and benefits. A part of this is probably just better financial planning overall, but I can already see my wealth potential living in the is exponentially bigger and better than it would be if I was in Canada plus I benefit from better quality healthcare. My parents have subpar healthcare in Toronto IMO. I can't even tell you how many times my Mom's Canadian doctor has told her to wait something out, meanwhile, in the US they always send for testing immediately and are able to find issues much faster.
