LPT: When people ask how the gig went last night, only speak about the positives. The person asking is someone who you need to convince to come to the next gig.

There are two sides to this. Sometimes you just have to face reality and tell it like it is. Some gigs, venues, promoters, sound guys, cities just fucking suck. Don't be a baby and bitch about everything on the internet all the time, but sometimes the truth has to be told. In fact I've had instances where somebody asked how it went, I told em it sucked and they said "fuck that, talk to this person for a gig instead next time."

People that suck at their jobs or treat bands like shit continue to get away with it when everyone just pretends everything is ok.

If it's just some random person at a show asking how last night went, you can tell them it was alright even if it wasn't.

I generally don't make it a policy to lie about things, though.
