I went to UCLA. UCLA does not have more crime than Berkeley. It's fairly laughable that you'd even make such a preposterous claim. Check out this recent crime mapping of Westwood/UCLA. Now check out the mapping for Berkeley. It's not even close.

Weird that you would bring up the whole "ACTUAL" gang thing... There are no gangs based in Westwood or in the adjacent cities next to Westwood (Bel Air, Brentwood, Beverly Hills).

On the other hand, Berkeley DOES have ACTUAL gangs BASED in the city and also has a plethora of gangs in both cities it's adjacent to (Richmond and Oakland).

Sorry no it's not unfounded hysteria, it's based on objective facts and statistics. Crime is a real issue in Berkeley and it's something that needs to be acknowledged to be properly addressed.
