I’m honestly confused by how the voting works. I think the postdoc tentative agreement was finalized Tuesday (11/29) but their voting doesn’t start until this Monday (12/5). However, this hasn’t been the case in the past for other UAW units. There was a union in 2016 who only had a Saturday and Sunday to vote to ratify the contract and the vote was in person, I think people would rightfully be upset if this happened though. However, a five day voting period seems like a long time. I haven’t been able to find any official information on this despite some digging. I assumed we will have the same 5 day voting window.

But yeah, I guess it’s not outside the realm of possibility that it will end next Friday. If that’s the case, then TAs could grade the following weekend/week. I think that’s after our fall quarter contract technically ends though so TAs could maybe decide if they want to grade or not? Typically, you only have until 72 hours following the final to submit grades. This is all speculation though, I’m not sure how this would work.
