why is the mainstream media in Morocco completely silent about what's going on about high prices? There are manifestations in multiple cities in Morocco about it already

injustice as the prophet pbuh said).

And here's the logical explanation: if a gov lowers/fixes the price of a good or service, that create more demand for it while reducing its supply in the market, (the lower price attracts more buyers, while it reduces the profit margins for suppliers (some of which will go bankrupt) since fixing the price of the end product, doesn't mean that the cost to produce that product goes down as well, same salaries, same raw materials, same logistics costs ...etc). And this increase in demand of that product while its supply dwindles pushes the price higher, not lower. so the only thing the price fixing achieves is bankrupting its smaller suppliers (hence the injustice)

You can say, well then the gov should subsidize those suppliers to insure the supply won't go down, but to do so, the gov either has to borrow more money (difficult in the current situation of Morocco), increase taxes (we already have high enough taxes, and a people complaining about high prices would never agree to higher taxes), or de-fund other sectors to fund the subsidies (so less funding for education, healthcare, police, military...etc)

Do you see the problem now?
