Making more friends in Ireland. How's it done?

I was in a similar rut this time last year mate. Im still in College and everything yet I was wasting my best years, depression , social anxiety that kind of thing. Went on a year abroad to Germany and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Im not suggesting that leaving is the automatic solution, but for me it gave a fresh start to be myself and regain my self confidence. I have to go home soon to a similar situation where I have my friends but I see them too seldom for them to be enough, but the general malaise I used to feel is gone and I know no matter what I'm not going back to the sadcase I was. You said that Irish people are a little too friendly ? (Fake, flakey, insincere you name it) and you don't trust them enough to form bonds ? Then fuck Irish people for the moment, foreigners were so much more genuine and being Irish abroad is very easy, most young people speak English in most places, they drink less and engage in more activities, they crave the fuck out of our humour. Have I also suffered from homesickness? Of course I miss the place for sure, but give it a whirl it might be the road to Damascus moment you need.
