Maladaptive behavior

When I’m not taking care of myself I feel I’m in a self sabotage spiral. I have to keep reminding myself I deserve to feel well. I deserve to feed myself nutritious foods. I deserve to get enough sleep/have clean teeth, etc. For me when I self sabotage I’m letting my abusers continue. And they aren’t welcome anymore.

Use an app to set up multiple reminders for your BP meds and other important things. Shaming yourself into doing the task isn’t being kind to you, so try to halt that spiral as well when you forget next time. Because there will probably be a next time, but then you’ll be kind to yourself and do the thing you need to do. If it’s of interest to you, the next time you remember a put-off task - pause and hug/talk to your inner child and let them know this mistake is okay, fixable, and they’re protected with adult you now.
