Manchester United make their move for Liverpool's Raheem Sterling

Really? So Coutinho, one of the best players this season, is not a bright spot? Henderson, touted as a worthy successor to Gerrard as captain by the captain himself, is not a bright spot? Mignolet, who has put in incredible performances during yet another unbeaten run (which included a 6 game streak of not conceding away from home) and is considered one of the better shot stoppers is not a bright spot? It's like you people really fucking buy into the shit that gets said in the comments on this sub. Those are three players who are performing well at a relatively young age (with Migs being the oldest at 27, which isn't particularly old for a keeper). The point was someone said I shouldn't be optimistic with losing Sterling (our "future") despite still having Coutinho. I simply chimed in that Coutinho, Henderson and Migs have been better than Sterling this season. You are the one that came along saying those 3 would lead to 5th at best. I didn't say shit about those three being the driving force to top 4. I simply said they were promising young talents and that they will continue to contribute in the future. Then I went on to say that if the rest of our new boys live up to their potential and contribute alongside them, with the addition of good signings we will challenge. Considering we didn't have those aforementioned players playing as well as they're considered capable as well as the fact that we were missing Sakho, Lucas and Sturridge due to injury for chunks of the season, and we got 5th, it really isn't that unreasonable a statement. How the fuck is that delusional when it's as close to fact as they come? I didn't say we'd win it all with just this exact roster alone. If we make changes to the side that can compete with the additions our rivals make, we will always be challenging for top 4 - I addressed that with the statement about adding new developed talent.
