Many gripes with the "The Man". It's sad!

I love her intentions with this song, I really do. But the point she's making with the song is very watered down and doesn't really hit home imo. Sure it's a catchy tune but it's it very surface level?

I 100% agree that she's faced a lot of sexism her industry (not to invalidate every other female artist that deals with the same) but it would be wrong to say she also hasn't used her womanhood as inspiration to write a lot of songs she made her career out of. One could even argue that she, as a good-looking white woman hasn't helped her in her formative years as an artist.

The song had a lot of potential to be "the anthem" to call out all the misogyny and set the record straight but what was got was too on the nose to have any significant impact.
