ArenaNet has communicated a lot this year. They have done really good, tightly focused betas for their upcoming expansion and quickly talking about and implementing feedback that they get from the public betas.

These guys livestream for 30–90-minutes every couple of weeks (Guild Chat) essentially documenting the development process and getting feedback from the community on how they think it is shaping up.

They have enacted an incredibly effective communication / feedback loop into their development cycle, and it is earning them some pretty well-deserved recognition IMO.

I understand that FF14 is extremely popular, but as another MMO studio has shown, the pure and simple fact of being the creator of the most popular game doesn't automatically make you the best studio.
