May 6 Score Release Thread

Thanks! I felt worst about my CP both during and after my exam. I let myself waste time on a couple of passages, and although I knew I was wasting time, I couldn't pull myself off the questions! Don't let yourself do this. It must have been a combination of nerves and other factors that caused me to abandon my game plan during the first section of the test, but you've got to keep moving forward. I ran out of time and guessed on the last 4-5 questions in the CP section. My score showed it.

After the CP section, I chilled out, went to the bathroom, and then sat back down and remembered what I wanted to do for CARS. I kept myself moving forward, marked and bubbled the difficult questions instead of racking my brain and talking myself into incorrect answer choices. I finished CARS with a few minutes to spare. I did not change any answer choices after I'd finished with CARS, since I've missed probably hundreds of CARS/verbal questions due to changing my answer. So, when I was done, I just made sure I had answered every question and then clicked to finish the section.

I never have trouble finishing the biological section, so i wasn't worried about my approach after the lunch break. I just went back into the testing room with confidence and got rolling. I finished with about 10 minutes to spare and I started reviewing my marked questions. With about 10 seconds left in the section I was looking at a marked question and my finger slipped and I bubbled a random choice. Before I could correct my mistake, the time expired. I accidentally yelled "shit" right there in the middle of the testing room, but nobody noticed so wasn't a big deal.

I really, really never have trouble finishing the psy/soc section, and honestly I was ready to finish the test at this point. I just relaxed and chose the answers I liked the most, and PS turned out to be my best section.

I had pretty mixed feelings about the test when I left the prometric center, probably because my first section gave me so much trouble. In retrospect, though, I was calm and collected throughout the final 3 portions of the test, and I think this played a big part in my success on these sections. If you practice your timing and keep pushing yourself forward while you are taking tests, you should be able to get through every section other than PS with time to spare.
