Meaningless Friday

My 70-year old father starts to show some serious health detoriating.

He's been forgetful of things for several years, but it was always minor, and just typical for people who get older.

Lately however, he's been getting very tired, headaches, dizziness, mood swings, etc.

It's very noticeable, as he gets sleepy at random times, and goes to bed way earlier or later than he's used to. Several times a day, he almost falls over due to being randomly dizzy. He eats a lot more, as if he forgot he just ate, but doesn't gain weight. When we try to correct him when he makes a mistake or error, he gets instantly aggressive. He's stuck to the television screen watching all kinds of random programmes, whilst he used to spend most of his time outdoors. He has hypertension, like 18+, etc.

Also, two days ago I found a small blood clot on the floor. It had a mucus-like texture, so it seems he coughed it up, or sneezed, and it came out, but he was unaware of it.

We've told him to go to the doctor but he doesn't want it. He never liked going to the doctor, throughout his life, so that's consistent. But his reasons are weird. He says he's "afraid", which I find hard to believe as he was a tough manual labourer all his life, and didn't mind getting the vaccine twice.

Now it's true my father quit school at age 15 to work, so he isn't educated, and he has an immigrant background coming from what was a third-world country at the time, but he should reconsider the importance of getting medical help.

Especially as he's lucky to be old in 2021 in Belgium, instead of his country of birth. Also, his father, my paternal grandfather, died around my father's age due to cancer. I need to know, if I have the genetic predisposition for a specific kind as well. Him getting medical help, will also help me.

The worst thing is that I'm in my mid-20's still, as my father had me at like 45. If you have children that late, atleast try to be there for them as long as possible....
