Apolgies in advance for the most likely incoherent rant but I need one today.
The hardcore MRAs are no better than the hardcore feminists that they bitch about all the time. Both don't give a fuck about equality and making sure that both genders can work towards a better future. They just use it as an excuse to hate.
If you listen to the feminist side then you'd think that every single day, every woman on earth is sexually assaulted while walking down the street while the rapist is cheered on by all the men in the area. Whereas if you listen to the MRA side they'd have you believe that no girls actually get raped and everything is just a false accusation. This sort of bullshit is what I can't stand, my soon to be wife has been raped on two separate occasions, so should I hate every other man on Earth purely because of three absolute scumbags? Or should I believe that it never happened and she's just lying. Because that's what these sides would rather see.
And the thing is, there ARE problems for both genders. Girls are objectified and treated as something to be owned by some people, they still do suffer a hell of a lot of sexual abuse that is just glanced over by some people as well as the constant cat calling and creepy comments that is a part of daily life for a lot of them, in addition there is still a lack of representation in some jobs as well as the wage gap (though these things are generally improving). And on the male side you have the fact that in a lot of cases involving children the courts side with the women, and for a man that suffers abuse of any kind they're expected just to "deal with it". And then you have the fact that a lot of the time men are expected to be the bread winners and all that shit and both sides end up looked down on if you decide to flip that around. And fuck knows how many problems for either side beyond those I've listed.
And it's difficult to make any headway with solving all these issues if people don't stop going "Yeah well you can't have any problems because we have it worse". There's also the problem of people taking shit way too personally and thinking that being asked not to say something is an attack on their free speech. As I said my fiancée has been raped so is pretty uncomfortable with that sort of joke. Does this stop me from making jokes about it? No. Does it stop me from making jokes about it around her? Yes. Because to be honest as long as I'm asked nicely I'd far rather just not make a joke whether it's racist, sexist, or whateverthefuckeverist, than continue to do it when it's clearly upsetting somebody. Though at the same time fuck all of the "You can't say that because it might offend somebody" shit, if it offends somebody then they can tell me and I'll stop saying that. These things are jokes, they're told and forgotten 5 minutes later and it's not going to kill me if I can't make a certain kind of joke. After all there are so so many things to take the piss out of.
I'm going to clarify that I know that most rational feminists and activists both aim for equality, but a lot of the time both sides are poisoned by the extremes on tumblr and cunts like those on the red pill.
If we could all just stop being dicks for like 5 minutes we could solve so much shit in this world.
