'Mental Health' has become the easiest excuse for laziness

Maybe mental health issues are much more common than people used to think and mental health awareness has just made it easier for more people to be open and honest about struggling with their mental health? And that’s why it SEEMS LIKE everyone is suffering from some type of mental health issue all of the sudden?
I get what you are saying, but the same goes for physical excuses people have for not working. Some people take advantage of the sympathy or “passes” one might receive for having physical or mental ailments that inhibit them from 100% functional and productive all the time, but it is probably more important for people to to be understanding and accepting of people that have physical or mental health issues rather than coming at them with the “or are you just lazy”. Because if everyone comes at it from a “are you just lazy” angle then the people that actually need support might not get it. That’s why the mental health awareness thing became so important in the first place too. Because people are more likely to disregard or not believe someone with a issue or disability that someone can’t really see or prove or explain.
