Running a red light is not treated nearly as seriously as it should be.

When I was a kid there was an intersection that had abnormally high incidents of Red light runners. My Dad would take me to school sometimes, and he’d pause before going and half the time, someone would run the light.

When I delivered food, I was almost clocked a few times, and not “speeding thru yellows” either. Plainly a Red that had changed.

I always look on green if I’m stopped, even looking thru some spots as I’m driving especially if I know the speed limits are higher. I also wait in the intersection until I see oncoming cars have stopped before finishing my turn when the light changes. These 2 things have saved me from serious accidents. One in particular would have been really bad cuz I was delivering and I didn’t always wear my seat belt back then.
