Just to play devils advocate here, the statistical reality is that black people are disproportionately likely to engage in violent behavior. 16% of the youth population, 52% of youth arrests for assault.

Now why black people have such a greater propensity for violence is up in the air. Is it genetics? more testosterone production? Is it the result of historical marginalization and less economic success? Is it them playing their role, a sort of cultural expectancy effect? The result of the media they consume that promotes violence and gang activity like rap music?

No one knows, but ignoring the reality doesn't make it go away, black individuals are much more likely to commit violent crime.

To me racism is judging an individual person by the color of their skin. Once you start talking about groups, yea you judge a group by statistics, because statistics describe groups, that is what they're for.
