TIL Sexsomnia, also called sleep sex, is a disorder in which sleeping people engage in sexual behaviors such as masturbation or initiating sex with another person. Even if their eyes open and they make sexual noises, they are truly asleep and unaware of their behavior once they are awake.

This happens in my relationship and I relate to your comment. I have a hard time because I have to basically process my feelings alone. When it happens, my partner feels bad, so I also have to manage his emotions.

As someone who has experienced multiple instances of CSA and adolescent SA, I really feel like I’m betraying myself sometimes when it happens and I feel bad yet I just try to go back to sleep.

For me, the most hurtful part of it all is that it didn’t even happen in their world because they were asleep.

How many times did you deal with it happening before that night? How long were you together? Was this the only thing going wrong in the relationship for you to want to leave?

While I am hurt by my partners actions, I don’t think I would leave him because of this. But if I ever were to be in the dating world again, I would stop seeing someone ASAP if I found out they also do these sleep things.
