In the midst of a 4-part series about Bon Appetit getting canceled for racism, the Reply All podcast is canceled for racism.

The thing that jumps out for me was the response to BA's editor playing a Puerto Rican type at a party and having it put on Instagram...in addition, he was known for making excuses about not covering the Puerto Rican food scene. Not a good look. Go back a few years and you can imagine comments like: "This is lame." "This is a racist thing to do." "It's a poor example for the head of any national mag - let alone one that covers the whole world's food culture." And similar thoughts meant to hold accountability to the editor and warn him to clean up his act, and for the rest, to foster discussion. Fast forward to 2021 and what do we get? Basically, "He goes or I go." Or in a couple cases, "I quit to make a point." That's the way we handle racism today: quick, easy, "rocksoffgetting" (if i might coin a Germanic word for something English lacks)...and most importantly no discussion and no accountability for anyone, except after the fact for the guy they want shitcanned.
