There are many reasons people seek out the UK and therefore don't settle in France.

We have a stronger job market than France.

We have many well established immigrant communities that make migrants feel at home.

They know people will be here to converse with in their own language, there are strong familial networks already in place because of our history with immigration.

English is the global language and many of them can speak it or are at least very familiar with it.

Stop kicking those at the bottom and start pointing fingers at those at the top.
