Most gimmicky/lazy casting of 2023?

My bad! He still looks like a cute twink and not 34-year-old Michael Cera though, but I'm not trying to bicker over a Barbie flick lol

And I’d rather they prioritise acting over appearance in this movie

My thing is those things aren't mutually exclusive, you know? And female actors are generally expected to be both. I feel like Hollywood is weird about young male actors in general tbh, I remember Leo going really hard to shed his hearthrob image/looks because the industry wouldn't take him seriously ss an actor otherwise. Almost feels like weird jealousy and gatekeeping or something. But I don't think Ryan is ugly either and he's a good actor, I think he'll do a nice job, it's just the defensiveness from people online that was puzzling me a bit...
