i was fully crying, screaming, throwing up, etc when his character was killed but still hated how much his fans were babying him and being extra weird about joseph himself. if it wasnt infantilization it was some of the most creepy & heinous sexual objectification. i cringe thinking back to some of what was sad. and since i was on twitter at the time i got the joy of seeing my mutuals interact with the horrible little weirdos who were saying disgusting things about grace for literally no reason other than jealousy. i saw several attempts to smear her name and threats made to her safter, and on the other side of the coin saw fans of the both of them buy paparazzi photos of them to add to their 'proof' that they were dating when joseph was openly dating around/loving the attention he was getting and grace had a long time boyfriend (iirc). i'm staying far away from that fandom when the show comes back like 10 years from now
