Motorcycle thief gets shot in the spine

The problem with 'people like me'? You haven't got a clue who I am and I have plenty of compassion but it doesn't apply universally to people irrespective of their behaviour. People cannot behave however they want and expect my compassion. I will help anybody I can, and I'm more than happy to help total strangers in situations where others don't.

The problem with people like you is you have no idea what it's like to be struggling to make ends meat already, riding a motorbike because you can't afford to run a car, and having somebody like this damage or steal your only means of getting to work, on multiple occasions, leaving you with repair bills you can't afford, making you suffer, and ultimately leaving you with no means to get to work, which you may not be able to afford to replace, only to repeat the cycle and ultimately can result in the loss of jobs, relationships or worse.

I have plenty of understanding, but clearly you don't. This isn't somebody who is struggling to feed themselves or their family, and after exhausting all other options and with a heavy heart and much guilt turns to stealing to survive. No this is somebody who doesn't care about anybody else, who sees something he wants (or wants to sell for a quick buck) and just takes it. He doesn't care for the heartache he causes because he is a truly selfish individual - he has to be to steal from another person. And you want me to have compassion for this person? Do you think he cares about my hardships (that he is adding to, or worse directly causes), and yet you want me to care about his?

This person has a made a decision that instead of earning what they want or need they will just take the lazy and selfish approach of taking it from somebody who has done the hard work to earn it. They are forcing somebody else to work for the stuff they want. No, I have no compassion for this kind of person.

It's easily when your not struggling to make ends meat to talk about compassion and understanding, now try and see it from my point of view.
