MRW I found out that Marsha Blackburn has introduced legislation to overturn the recent Net Neutrality ruling.

before i respond to this, can you clarify if you are for or against net neutrality? I agree that large corporations have paid into influencing the decision governments make, but standing up for net neutrality goes against some of your own comments... If you don't want the internet to be censored, or you don't want the availability of content to be tampered with, than I must say you are against net neutrality? If NN goes through, it won't just be "rich people who can't buy faster internet" that will be affected. Giving the government, and any of the companies that have bought into the government, the power to decide who gets what speed of internet is the first step to them telling us what we can and cannot do on the internet. Some "rich people who want fast internet" deserve it. If you get rich by working hard, showing a successful business model, and accomplishing something that people are willing to pay money for, why shouldn't you get the fastest internet available if you so desire? In the same way dentists who are successful have nice offices which demonstrate the fact their business is healthy and successful, if you want fast internet because you can afford it, why should the government, or anyone, be able to take that away from you? That's how our economy in the United States is supposed to work. Be successful, make money, buy yourself nice things, shitty things, whatever you want... As a reward for having done good. Just because you won't lose sleep over people with money not getting the internet connection they desire, who cares? Are you rich? Have you worked your ass off day in and day out to make a successful business that grants you the ability to afford such things? Because the people that have don't deserve to penalized for their success... That's not how the Free Market works... Do a good job, get recognized, make money... Or do a shitty job, your business fails... you got what you put into it... Plenty of people will hurt from net neutrality taking affect, and more than just the rich people will be affected by it... Again, I'd like you to clarify where you stand. Some of the points you made are inherently conflicting... On one hand you don't want internet censorship, on the other you don't care if the rich can't buy premium internet services.... At the point you allow someone to tell you how to spend your money, you afford them more control over your own being than should ever be given away freely... If you earn enough money that society considers you are rich, you should be able to spend it how you choose, without the government stepping in and saying, "oh it's not fair you have such a grand internet connection when others cannot afford it." Who gives a fuck if some people can't afford it. That's the whole point of being successful. Earning the privilege of having nice things or the ability to take extra good care of your family, or hell, spend it all on hookers and cocaine... The government shouldn't decide what internet connection you should be allowed to have anymore than they should decide what you do on the internet... And both of those controls come from passing and instating net neutrality. again, i am rather confused as to where you stand.
