Muffin Break boss slams Millennials, says young people won’t do unpaid work

My first job was at muffin break. It is a café that also sells muffins. The manager fired me without telling me just because I asked for regular hours. After that conversation (during which I was not given an answer either way) I was simply taken off the roster and never given any more hours. Never had the decency to even tell me I wouldn't be required to come in any more. Basically what I think happened was she hired me to fill in the gaps in the schedule. I was only part time and I did The Wrong Thing asking to be considered for anything more.

I never pursued it because I was very young and tbh I hated the job. I was constantly being nitpicked and criticised for small, stupid things like not smiling enough even though my face hurt and not talking loud enough, even though it was not the case. I was good at my job. They had a girl who had been working there for 2 years who was allowed to be outright rude to the customers and her coworkers, and slack off constantly with no one batting an eye. Muffin break is a horrible place to work. No appreciation. The last time I got a coffee from there a few months ago it was an overpriced cup of tasteless sludge with the chocolate powder not even mixed in, so they don't even have that going for them. Never will consider wasting my time or money on that company again.

It doesn't surprise me to hear about their big boss having this attitude at all.
