Musings on Self Defense. Update: First draft.

Everything in this post gives me a headache.

absorb what works, discard what does not work. Simple, direct, freedom. Do not try to predict the outcome of a fight. Empty mind. Never take on a style or form as this leads to stagnation.

How original.

Empty mind like a cat trusting it's instinct knowing it is ready to strike.

You really think fighting like a cat is the most efficient form of combat? Why? Cats aren't that smart you know.

Eye and groin strikes are extremely effective.

No. They can work well but if these are your main tools / only skillset you will get your head bashed in by anyone decent.

Use anything that works

How do you even know what works if you never compete and test yourself? Reaching for your opponents balls and scratching wildly isn't going to do anything against a trained technical fighter.

Empty mind. Block and strike at the same time. Intercept verbal or emotional energy with a first strike. Catch, slip and weave are effective.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY EMPTY MIND?! Close your eyes? Stop thinking about the show you were watching two hours earlier? Stick your fingers in your ears for silence?

Oh really??? Bobbing and weaving is effective defense?? who would've known.. Good luck trying to catch punches. That Wing Chun block and attack simultaneously stuff isn't that reliable either.

Low and fancy stances are fraudulent and ineffective.

What is a fancy stance? Low stances are definitely not ineffective. Conor McGregor uses a low and wide stance. What is a neutral stance? Squared and upright? That is an ineffective stance.

Closest weapon closest target.

There is no right way.

But you said other stuff is shit a minute ago.
