My emergency fund is about to ensure me best in class medical care

I agree that an emergency fund is necessary.

I disagree because a lot of people are financially struggling and hardly have enough money to cover their bills—myself included.

Some months I don’t have to eat canned food and tortillas and end up having $5 in my account at the end of the month. Other months I’m eating nothing but bulk rice and legumes/cheap canned food and with a $0 or negative balance because of needing extra gas for work, or I got sick and needed to take a day off work.

Yes, one day off work can make or break my bank.

So yes, emergency fund is necessary if you can afford it.

(P.S. I’m doing a lot better now than I was last month and it’s progressively getting better. Thanks for all the financial help on here. It’s helped tremendously. I even paid off one of my credit cards!)
