My employer overpaid me and will now be taking a portion of each paycheck as reimbursement (Oregon)

I mean… it’s not REALLY like an advance, as that’s something I would have asked for. It’s more like they literally made an error and are now literally asking me to pay for their error.

The only reason I am stressed is because I cut my hours with this employer to one day weekly because I got a new job with a much higher income and much more reasonable hours, but I literally started work on the first day of the new pay period so I have to wait to get paid from my new employer and was keeping my one day a week at my old employer so I would have spending money for food, gas, etc. so if the once weekly job is not serving that purpose then I may as well quit.
