I have no idea what a power conditioner is and if they are appropriate. Yes, that maybe a solution but I'm not going to propose it if I don't know what they are/do. I asked for protection from power surges because my work equipment is not mine and I'd like to protect it. He said he'd installed GFI outlets, I said sure. He hasn't done it and decided against professional help.

A main issue is that most of the outlets are only 2-prong so I can't plug in a majority of my equipment and the power is off and therefore it's difficult to inhabit the space.

I don't want to lawyer up or demand anything over-the-top, just looking for information on how to approach situations like this, which you have given very graciously so I appreciate the info.
