My Review Of Psycho

I'm pleased you got something out of it despite your lack of love for the horror genre. Psycho is in my top 10 of all time. I think the movie is more disturbing than scary, but I prefer that sort of thing anyway. One part did cause me to jump on my initial viewing, though, and that was Arbogast's murder. I blame it all on the score.

I'm sort of bitter the shower scene is so ubiquitous nowadays because I think it would've been just as effective on me had I not been expecting it. But it's still shocking in certain ways, namely in just how much it stays with you. Because of Psycho we're all afraid to take showers of course, but I think actually seeing the movie makes it even worse. One time when I was home alone my dog nudged open the door during one of my showers and I nearly had a heart attack, lol. Thanks, Psycho.

Outside of the shower scene I actually didn't know that much about the film the first time I saw it (If you can believe that) and I think that certainly played a factor in just how much I loved it. The ending sent so many chills down my spine and it still does.
