[My Sports Update] “#Eagles DE Michael Bennett on @GMFB: ‘Whatever team I play for I want to get paid more than I do now.’”

I don't really like talking about other peoples' money but he's earned over $50M in his career, $7M/yr would still be an above average salary for him and he'd still be on a contending team.. He's basically admitting he'd rather make a million or two more than have a chance to play in the postseason because he'll most likely only get offers from bad teams with cap space to waste. That's fine, but I'm definitely gonna judge him for it.

He was worth a 5th round pick and a practice squad WR to the Seahawks, who ended up just filling his spot with more production from both Clark and Reed.... it's clear that Bennett is not nearly as valuable as his production would indicate, and our replacement for him will likely have nearly identical production because Fletcher Cox and BG both open up a ton of opportunities for that other edge rusher and DT. Every DL we introduce to this system has more success than they should've because all the attention on those other two. I would probably say Bennett way underwhelming in some ways.
