Generally the players have been nice so that's awesome, but that is kind of the expectation since us fans are the ones that support the players' lifestyle. I urge top players that make money from tourneys, streams, and their sponsorships to understand this!
Please don't keep pushing this way of thinking. During Leffen's rant (which happened to cover this topic: "But we're your fans!") on stream he stated that he was approached more at EGLX for autographs/selfies than he has been approached at every tournament he has ever been to in Europe combined and considered not going to tournaments less than national/international level due to being constantly followed/approached at tournaments, of course, he could have been exaggerating. Smashers atm don't have VIP areas like other games so there's nowhere for them to go when they need to cool down.
It may only be 30 seconds to you but 30x200 = 100 minutes (which is being generous, because each interaction will likely take at least 1 minute if the person decides to talk) which is well over an hour of their time and consider that if they cut people off they risk being thought of as an asshole and being harassed by people who don't get autographs/ selfies.
Of course they don't always want to be left alone, but when you're at a tournament with over 1000 people, it's just impossible to make everyone happy. Until there's some kind of precedent set for giving players space I don't think it should be the norm to expect being cozy in front of fans their top priority. The best solution seems to be having dedicated times to do this, but it doesn't seem like that's really a thing yet.
In the video he states he did a dedicated fan meet + over 200 fan interactions during the 2 tournament days at EGLX. The situation is getting out of hand with the larger number of players getting into the game for some of the players so pls take this into consideration when approaching players at tournaments.
