I need help recording drums...

I found a used premier kit with cymbals on Craigslist a few years back for 300. Then I bought a brand new killer Tama snare for another 300. I’ve used this kit on hundreds of records and with new heads on it sounds better than most kits clients bring in. Knowing how to tune and mic them properly is a huge factor. Then spend another 100 on Trigger because let’s face it, all modern drum sounds are fake anyway, and unless you’re a seasoned pro engineer you’re going to be much closer to satisfying your clients by using sample augmentation/replacement. It’s the sound that people expect nowadays and if you don’t, your competitors will. Good luck!
