Neighbor trying to trap all neighborhood and feral cats and "take them to the shelter or somewhere else". Advice needed.

The feral cat coalition goes out there and feeds the feral cats, they don't trap them and bring them to shelters. Nobody wants to adopt a wild cat. A truly feral cat is just like any other wild animal. The only trapping the feral cat coalition does is trap neuter release. My cat is chipped, but don't you think knowingly taking a neighbor's cat to a shelter is kinda evil? Even though they admitted they never saw my cat in the sandbox (they saw other regulars there) and my cat actually only went to their backyard because she was attracted by the wet cat food they put into the trap.

As for your ideas about what's best for cats and your ideas about their freedom, let's just say that the US is the *only* country in the world where most people seem to think that keeping a cat indoors for life is the right thing to do. All of Europe, among others, disagrees and all their cats are indoor/outdoor cats (except if there is no "outdoors" like the middle of the city with lots of traffic). In any case, I didn't come here to debate different ideas of where a cat is supposed to be and how a cat is supposed to be kept.
