The new gens seem so odd to me. Am I getting too old?

I view it the same way I view music and other art forms. As I get older, taste changes but nostalgia is also very prominent. My favorite gens are 2 and 3 mainly for childhood nostalgia. I always find myself going back and playing those. But nowadays I'm bored when I play Gold or Ruby, I've played them to death.

Growing up I was a huge prog rock guy. Now I consider myself a hip hop head. I'll still listen to Pink Floyd and King Crimson to visit memory lane of high school rock band days, but I'd much rather listen to some Kendrick or Travis Scott these days.

It's about adapting to change for me and to be moderate about eating the member berries. I personally love Sun/Moon despite having a weaker story than the other games. It's new. And I remind myself that these games are meant for the younger generation. Sun/Moon could become the favorite rendition of Pkmn for a 10 yr old today. It's not catered to the ones who grew up with the franchise but to invite new, aspiring trainers to get into the world of Pokemon.
