NEW OR NEED HELP? Ask here! - ScA Daily Help Thread

I'm trying to set up a new skin care routine because I've been having really bad, inflamed breakouts along my jawline and neck. I've consistently had problems with tiny, non-inflamed oil plugs on my forehead and cheeks, which still persist. Previously, I used Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer and a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cream. I've found that the moisturizer actually broke me out thanks to the cetyl 20 and cetearyl alcohol combination.

I've switched to the Garnier sulfate-free gentle cleanser, and I've ordered the Proactiv MD set because I'm hoping that the Adapalene gel helps with oil production. I plan on immediately tossing the cleanser because menthol breaks me out terribly, and I think that cleanser is just too harsh. I'm wondering if I should use the set as directed in that they suggest using the glycolic acid toner both morning and night, but I don't know if it's productive to use glycolic acid and adapalene at the same time, or if I should use the toner and moisturizer in the morning, then the adapalene and moisturizer at night. I'm also patch-testing a 2 ounce bottle of hemp seed oil to which I added about 10 drops of tea tree oil to see if that would be a good moisturizer for me, or even an additive to moisturizer when my skin could use a little extra help. By the way, I do want to use an AHA product (even if it's not the Proactiv toner) somewhere in my routine because the inflamed acne has led to a lot of HIP. Will ditching BP be okay since I'm adding a retanoid to my routine, or would you suggest alternating nights between adapalene and 2.5% BP?

I'd love any suggestions! Thanks!
