No Audible. The good and Bad.

You aren’t getting my point lol.

I fully agree with you. It’s unfortunate that authors get around 10%-40% of each sale depending on their deal. Definitely not fair and I’m glad Brandon is taking a stand.

But, audible is very good from a consumer perspective. It’s like shopping at a wholesale store like Costco. We get great prices because we as a group are buying in large quantities at regular intervals.

Making things more fair will require sacrifices.

  1. Right now, we can support Brandon by paying 3x-7x more on other platforms. He gets to keep 70% instead of 40%. Burden is on us.

  2. Brandon sells on Spotify at massive discount and sells less copies. He keeps 70% instead of 40%. Burden is on him.

  3. Amazon adjusts revenue split to match Spotify. He keeps 70% instead of 40%, we get a price increase on credits to make up for amazons loss, he sells fewer copies. Burden is on all of us.

Regardless, something has to give. Amazon is treating their authors unfairly but $7-$15 audiobooks are a very very very good price for us.
