Is it normal for me to feel the same towards my best friend(26M) as my boyfriend (26M)?

Agree with this sentiment. To the OP - if you want you relationship w your BF to work in the long run, it will be very very challenging to be in two relationships at the same time - one emotional, and another emotional + sexy time.

Men and women have close friendships subconsciously for different reasons. Women form these friendships for emotional support and context. Men do as well, but are much more frequently going about these relationships for the possibility of future romantic potential... again all subconsciously.

This maybe there’s no romance w the friend now. However, when you and your BF go through a rough patch, you will rely on your friend for support and as a place to drown your sorrows. A shoulder to cry on. See where this leads?

Sorry to be debbie downer. This comes from years of inner reflection.
